How to identify what your skin truly needs

DECISION GUIDE Decision Guide

Walk into any skincare store and countless products line the shelves. "How do I choose?" — that confusion is completely natural.

The key: start from your skin's condition, not from products. Just reversing this order makes choosing dramatically simpler.

Step 1: Observe your skin

After morning cleansing, wait 30 minutes without applying anything. T-zone shiny → combination/oily. Overall tightness → dry. Redness/stinging → barrier compromised. No significant change → normal.

Step 2: Specify your concern

Not "I want better skin" but specifically: dryness? dullness? acne? pores? firmness? dark spots? Narrow to one concern. If multiple, start with the most severe.

Step 3: Match concerns to ingredients

Dryness/barrier → ceramides, panthenol, squalane. Firmness → peptides, retinol, niacinamide. Dullness/tone → vitamin C, niacinamide, AHA. Acne → salicylic acid, niacinamide, CICA.

Step 4: Prioritize

Don't try solving everything at once. Barrier repair comes first. Without an intact barrier, other ingredients can't perform well. Build the defense foundation, then move to active treatments.

The basics: "Know yourself → Know your ingredients → Choose effective concentrations." Three steps.
