Effect
Vesicles isolated from the single-celled green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, used for skin conditioning. Its registered function in CosIng is "skin conditioning - miscellaneous".
Concentration
No public data on typical use concentrations in cosmetics could be found.
Effect
Vesicles isolated from the single-celled green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, used for skin conditioning. Its registered function in CosIng is "skin conditioning - miscellaneous".
Mechanism
Vesicles (tiny membrane-enclosed particles) isolated from the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (CosIng definition). A peer-reviewed in vitro study of extracellular vesicles isolated from the culture medium of this species reported no cytotoxic effects on human cells including dermal fibroblasts, and identified superoxide dismutase and catalase (antioxidant enzymes) among their proteins. No published peer-reviewed study on the skin effects of the cosmetic raw material itself could be found.
Typical concentration
No public data on typical use concentrations in cosmetics could be found.
Onset
Unconfirmed (no public data on the time until effects are noticed could be found).
Cautions
Public data on this ingredient as a cosmetic raw material are limited. It is a different labeled ingredient from Chlamydomonas Reinhardtii Extract. Whether the vesicles used in research are produced in the same way as the cosmetic raw material is unknown. Drug-like efficacy claims are not permitted.
