Paste an ingredient list and we will pick out the ingredients our encyclopedia covers. We do not judge products as good or bad. This is a tool for reading labels.
What we record
We record the names of the active ingredients our encyclopedia covers, together with the remaining entries grouped as “other”, so we can study which ingredients are used together and draw on that when planning articles and products. These records are kept separate from anything that identifies you (visitor ID, IP address), and the list you paste is not stored as text.
What this cannot do
It does not judge a product’s quality, safety or efficacy. Amounts cannot be read from an ingredient list — ingredients at 1% or less, and colourants, may be listed in any order — so the order tells you nothing about how much is in there.
